AICE Media Studies: Planning for my Nike Air Jordan Commercial

   Planning Blog

Props:

As I am doing a Nike commercial, I will be mainly using a pair of Air Jordan 1s, the first shoe Michael made. Other props I will use is basketball and if my backup plan is used, my own basketball hoop.

Costumes:

My commercial is about basketball and I will be using clothing similarly used in street ball. My actors will wear athletic clothing. T-shirts and loose tank tops will be worn throughout the commercial. As the main actor, I would wear a T-shirt and my other actor will wear any clothing I have mentioned or is athletic. We will all wear shorts. One of my actors will have on a head band while the rest of us will film without one.

Schedule:

On 10/22/20, I gathered research about Nike Air Jordan commercials to compile an idea on what to do.

On 10/23/20, I planned out what I will be doing throughout this commercial and when I will.

On 10/27/20, I will make a storyboard about this commercial to formulate a plan.

On 10/28/20 or 11/02/20, I will film and record the necessary shots for the commercial.

On 10/29/20-11/02/20, I will dump and edit the footage gathered to add the finishing touches to the commercial. I will also gather and record more film if needed.

Location Listing:

My main location to film and record the commercial is at Lincoln Park where the basketball courts are. We will film a before and after putting on Nike Air Jordans. Before wearing them, we'll have the main actor perform terribly while playing and afterwards perform well with the shoes. This is to emphasize the fact that the shoes can make you a better player.

Back-up Plan:

If the weather doesn't check out or the park is closed, I will film at my driveway. I will use my basketball hoop instead of the court's. I will have someone in my family film and record. I will have a before and after wearing the shoes. The before has me wanting to dunk but I am unable to due to poor shoe quality. After wearing them, I will be able to dunk. This is done to emphasize that Jordans help you at basketball and you should buy them. If one of my actors can't make it, I will swap one of them to film and record instead.
