 Title Research: Nashville

This movie's titles is also one we have researched from the website Art of The Title. We noticed this one has a unique style. To figure out the elements and what type of titles it has, we answered a few questions below.

  1. What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? In the beginning, the company behind the film is shown. Next, it mainly black screens with credits on them. This refers to the people who made the film. It then later shows news papers and posters of the people the speaker is referring to. It seems to be the people starring in the film. It then lastly goes to the front of a garage and opens up.
  2. What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? The credits is priorized in the beginning. It then later prioritzes the posters of the people. It desribes them and their role. 
  3. What connotations do these images carry? Connotations carried are mainly positive. The feelings made are positive. It portrays the idea of happiness and having fun. It also has a sense of humor in it. 
  4. How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset? The announcer talking about the people establishes the feeling of the genre from the outset. He sounds a little bit worried and talks about the character's feelings and how they are. This could imply they have problems and try to solve them.
  5. What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience? Strategies used are dramatic yet funny editing and music. The flashness appeals to the audience. 
  6. How has technology been used effectively? You want to consider camera angles, transitions and editing techniques. Camera angles used include an establishing shot at the end showing the main place. It also tracks the truck leaving the garage. It also zooms out to show the scene better. Not much editing is used besides the cutting from the news papers to the garage.

This movie doesn't seem to do well in using camera angles and editing well. It is old but more could have been used. The news papers and posters showing the characters was unique and displayed some interesting information on the town.

 Hello. This will be my last blog updating my progress. The last blog will be the movie itself. I managed to finish everything that needed be done. All of the footage is put together and edited properly to fit most of the storyboard. I did have to change some thing though. Firstly, I had to take out some scenes. This was because the movie would be too long and pass the 2 minute mark. Some of the scenes taken out were in the car scene where instead of having the car moving, the car is still. The scenes are only taken from the side as nobody is in the front. The next scene at the court is also different as less angles of the court were taken because it would make the movie too long. It was also quicker too leading into the next page of the storyboard. Scene 5 was changed where instead of me falling, I just tried to block him instead. He makes the shot still. The angle is also different where it's on the side instead. I also don't kneel and just put my hands on my head and my knee...

Production Blog for my final task: Last footage: AICE Media Studies

 Hello again. From my previously blog, I talked about what footage we gathered and the next time we planned to film. However, things changed. My partner and friend had to work on the day we were supposed to film. And even though we put the day back one of them still had to work. This meant that we couldn't film. So instead we are going to file day, on on Sunday where everyone is off work. So before Sunday, I will gather footage for my car scenes. That way, we'll have all the footage of the movie. Afterwards, I will move on. We will finish up the last steps of the final task. We will take all of the footage and edit it to make our movie. I will mainly do most of the editing. My partner will help me if needed as of right now. Editing the film shouldn't take too long. I do have a little experience from my previous projects. So I have some understanding of editing a film.
