AICE Media Studies: Filming for my Nike Air Jordan Commercial.

Image
Filming Blog: My driveway      On Sunday, 1st of November, I filmed my commercial. Since my original plan failed, I had to use my back up plan. This had me have my Dad as my other actor. My friends couldn't meet up and so this was the plan instead. For costumes, I wore Nike all across and my Dad only wore a Nike shirt. Since in the filming I am the better player, it is implied that it was because I wear Nike clothing and shoes. I had my mom film most of the scenes. Props used was my basketball and hoop. The first scene had a close up shot on my shoes to show what the commercial is about. It then progresses towards a play where I lose my defender and make a jump shot. The next scene takes a close up shot of the ball going in. We had to re-film each scene as my parents are not experienced with camera work. The next scene was filmed towards the hoop as I walk toward the camera and my Dad says his line. The area of filming was relatively clean and no accidents occurred....

AICE Media Studies: Storyboard for my Nike Air Jordan Commercial

Image
First Scene: For this scene, I will be filming a close up shot of the Nike Air Jordans. The person wearing them will be running across the court to the basketball and make a play. This will last about 5 seconds. Second Scene: The next scene will have the person be guarded by two people. As they try to stop the person, the person gets past both of them, something difficult to do in basketball. They then take a open shot and make a basketball. This score is the game winner. This will last about 7-10 seconds. Third scene: The person who won walks off the court to a bench. The opposing player is then zoomed in on and comments on how good the person is. The person then walks away and into the camera and is no longer visible. This will last about 5 seconds. Fourth Scene: The winner sits down at a bench. He drinks from a water bottle and stands up. The camera is pointed towards his side. He stands up and looks at the camera. He then comments on how its the shoes and you can ball like Mic...

AICE Media Studies: Planning for my Nike Air Jordan Commercial

Image
Planning Blog Props: As I am doing a Nike commercial, I will be mainly using a pair of Air Jordan 1s, the first shoe Michael made. Other props I will use is basketball and if my backup plan is used, my own basketball hoop. Costumes: My commercial is about basketball and I will be using clothing similarly used in street ball. My actors will wear athletic clothing. T-shirts and loose tank tops will be worn throughout the commercial. As the main actor, I would wear a T-shirt and my other actor will wear any clothing I have mentioned or is athletic. We will all wear shorts. One of my actors will have on a head band while the rest of us will film without one. Schedule: On 10/22/20, I gathered research about Nike Air Jordan commercials to compile an idea on what to do. On 10/23/20, I planned out what I will be doing throughout this commercial and when I will. On 10/27/20, I will make a storyboard about this commercial to formulate a plan. On 10/28/20 or 11/02/20, I will film and ...

AICE Media Studies: My Research Blog for a Nike Air Jordan Commercial Conventions

Image
Research: Commercial Conventions and Codes I will be doing a NIKE commercial, specifically featuring Nike's Air Jordans. These commercials usually have people doing a physical activity but Jordans are tailored to basketball as Michael Jordan made them.  People would wear types of shoes for physical activities like tennis shoes or running shoes. Clothes include t-shirts, shorts, and any loose-fitted clothing. In the commercial, people are usually sweating and out of breathe. They are fit and athletic, making it seem people of similar appearance can do what they are doing. In an Air Jordan commercial, its usually not like that as Michael Jordan is there and portrayed as the best and won't be tired ever.  Things like jump ropes or a basketball hoop are some props used to show this commercial is about physical activities. It could be on a football field or a soccer field with people playing on the field. For Air Jordans, it usually has someone dunking. Sounds include the ico...
