Creative Critical Reflection

1.     How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?

My product follows Nike Air Jordan Conventions by using the standard music in the 80s. It also follows a classic formula as commercials weren’t the greatest back then and you could tell the difference from that time to now. My product doesn’t represent any issues and represents basketball shoes.

2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?

My product engages with the audience by having key attractions. The music is nostalgic to the 80s people. Jordan is also a famous player. By having a shoe by him, it is an example of ethos and people will buy it. It would be distributed as real media text as it has music and is trying to convey and sell a product.

3.     How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

At first, my skills were not good. As I began planning, I started getting an idea on what to do for my commercial. Once done with the storyboard, I had a great idea on what to do. I did have to improvise as my main plan failed so I had my parents help me. From the beginning to the end, I learned a lot and will continue doing so in the future.

4. How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?

I integrated many technologies. I used my smart phone to gather all the footage. It has a reliable camera and can record well. I also used my computer to edit. I used a reliable editing software to make my commercial. All these tools helped me create my product.
