Genre Research: AICE Media Studies

 Horror Genre: 

To get an understanding of what type of film we want, we started to research different genres. One genre in particular is the Horror genre. This is one of the more popular ones in film. We wanted to see if this could fit our second pitch. For our research, we made a power point covering the details. The power point below shows. 

For the PowerPoint, it describes the key aspects of the Horror genre. It covers the lighting seen throughout films with the horror genre. Things like Up-lighting and Spot-lighting are described in detail and how they are used. The information is presented in an clear way. We also cover the various camera angles used, such as High and Low angles. These are also described in detail in the PowerPoint. Different types of camera movements unique to horror films are also explained as well. Another is the Mise-en-scene and the way it is presented and used in horror films. The scary and ominous sounds used in horror films are also in detail and researched as it is one of the most important elements. Important elements in horror films are also talked about. These include things like the need to scare the audience and using suspense and fear to intimidate the audience to make it enjoyable. Popular films have also been looked at to get a better understanding of what the genre is like. Movies like Get Out and It are among the highest rated horror films of all time. This whole PowerPoint also uses images to show the various angles and camera movements to give a better understanding of them. Important elements were researched and give us a good understanding of horror films and how they work.

 Hello. This will be my last blog updating my progress. The last blog will be the movie itself. I managed to finish everything that needed be done. All of the footage is put together and edited properly to fit most of the storyboard. I did have to change some thing though. Firstly, I had to take out some scenes. This was because the movie would be too long and pass the 2 minute mark. Some of the scenes taken out were in the car scene where instead of having the car moving, the car is still. The scenes are only taken from the side as nobody is in the front. The next scene at the court is also different as less angles of the court were taken because it would make the movie too long. It was also quicker too leading into the next page of the storyboard. Scene 5 was changed where instead of me falling, I just tried to block him instead. He makes the shot still. The angle is also different where it's on the side instead. I also don't kneel and just put my hands on my head and my knee...

Production Blog for my final task: Last footage: AICE Media Studies

 Hello again. From my previously blog, I talked about what footage we gathered and the next time we planned to film. However, things changed. My partner and friend had to work on the day we were supposed to film. And even though we put the day back one of them still had to work. This meant that we couldn't film. So instead we are going to file day, on on Sunday where everyone is off work. So before Sunday, I will gather footage for my car scenes. That way, we'll have all the footage of the movie. Afterwards, I will move on. We will finish up the last steps of the final task. We will take all of the footage and edit it to make our movie. I will mainly do most of the editing. My partner will help me if needed as of right now. Editing the film shouldn't take too long. I do have a little experience from my previous projects. So I have some understanding of editing a film.
