Filming for my Final Task: Day 2: AICE Media Studies

 Hello. I am back here again. In my previous blog, I explained the plan me and my group have when filming. I planned to film last weekend on Saturday and Sunday. However, this was not the case. I had other things to do. Homework for other classes were due. Because of this, I had to focus most of my time onto that instead. When I finally did finish, I didn't do much besides go over the plan for filming. So I wasn't able to do any actual filming over the weekend. I still have time though. Considering spring break is coming up next week, I will definitely be able to film. School will be off and I won't have much homework. This would give me necessary time to film for the final task. So I am planning to film my parts of the film this weekend. If this weekend I am unable to film, I simply change when I will. This will be next weekend or during spring break. My partner also will be able help film once spring break comes. They will be back in town and we'll be ready to film. Until then, I will continue finalizing plans and making sure we are ready to film.

 Hello. This will be my last blog updating my progress. The last blog will be the movie itself. I managed to finish everything that needed be done. All of the footage is put together and edited properly to fit most of the storyboard. I did have to change some thing though. Firstly, I had to take out some scenes. This was because the movie would be too long and pass the 2 minute mark. Some of the scenes taken out were in the car scene where instead of having the car moving, the car is still. The scenes are only taken from the side as nobody is in the front. The next scene at the court is also different as less angles of the court were taken because it would make the movie too long. It was also quicker too leading into the next page of the storyboard. Scene 5 was changed where instead of me falling, I just tried to block him instead. He makes the shot still. CCR: Name: _______Joseph Gonzalez_________________   Creative Critical Reflection 1.      How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? My product is not especially different compared to other music videos when it comes challenging conventions. It does a lot of similar things and has similar aspects to other music videos in the indie folk and indie pop genre. The setting is common for a lot of songs in the Indie genre in 2013. It features a beach setting with waves, the sun, sand, and happy people on the beach. The song is folk because of the stringy guitar and mellow vocals throughout the song. It also has influences from pop rock with the upbeat melody and changes in it throughout the song. Songs it may have influence from may be “Hey Soul Sister” as it has similar aspects. It follows the interest in love and having feelings for one person and how much they matter to you. The lyrics detail this quite well...

  Titles Research: The Big Country For further research, we decided to pick an older film. With this, we can see the history in film development. We can compare this to the more recent drama films and see which methods of film making is similar and what is different. Using the Art of The Titles to find the movie and to figure this out, we answered a few questions below. What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? Displayed is images of horses and a wagon. The horses are carrying the wagon that has people riding on it. It shows them following a trail throughout the whole opening sequence until they reach a house at the end. Throughout the whole thing credits are shown.  What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? Primary images shown are the horses and the path they follow.
